A father’s plea : Our son’s birth has given our life a new meaning; with his little hands and sweet smiles, our days were always brighter. He is our world and seeing him in pain is unbearable for us. My son Rahil is only two and a half years old. It was during the month of November 2021 that he started developing a high fever and had a lump on his right eye. Then we followed the medical treatment as suggested by the doctor. But there was no improvement in his condition. Further, as suggested after multiple investigations, he was diagnosed with “Retinoblastoma” (a type of eye cancer which spreads beyond the eye to other parts), for which the only curative treatment is worth about Rs. 2,00,000/-approx. that includes hospitalization, chemotherapy, investigation, and procedures with antibiotics and medical products. I am working as a house painter and my income is not enough to bear the expense of Rahil’s treatment. All our savings, with borrowed funds and multiple loans, have been spent on the treatment so far. Now there is no option left with us to arrange this hefty sum. Months have passed since I last saw my son struggling with life in such a miserable condition. With a life ahead of him, he shouldn’t be at the receiving end of such a fatal disease. It breaks my heart to see him crying for help. I stand helpless, as there is nothing more I can do for him. All my son needs is a helping hand, which will go a long way towards saving his life.
